Finally there is some movement on the web fonts landscape. With the introduction of Google Font Directory designers now have access to 18 new free fonts that can be embed to the site with a short line of code. Hopefully the number of supported fonts increases in time. There are faces suitable for paragraph texts as well as for headlines. I have been using Droid Sans and Cantarell in my latest projects and they seem to be working surprisingly well, bringing freshness to the look and feel of the design. Since Google does not have the fonts as a downloadable set, I uploaded allĀ Google Font Directory fonts here.
