You can’t make it any easier than that. Google has launched a tool for its font directory that lets you preview fonts in real time. Besides the usual stuff like changing fonts’ face and size, you can manipulate word, letter and line spacings or even add a drop shadow. Once finished designing, the only thing left to do is to copy and paste a few lines of dynamically generated code to your style sheet file!
If you’re into web (or print) design, you should know how important it is to have your elements lined up correctly. This is when the Gridmaker comes in handy. It cuts out some time you previously spent copying, pasting, dragging and nudging lines and boxes around your graphics program.
Wordle generates word clouds from the data you provide. It has a lot of customization options from colour palettes to numerous fonts and text filtering options. Here is my quick demo with some dummy text. Probably it’s not the kind of tool you would use too often but certainly helps to save time when there’s a need to pitch an idea to a client.
It could also be useful when your presentations or handouts need some sparkle. Unfortunately there is no image saving functionality, so you are limited to print and print screen options.
Smush.it is a tool for optimizing images without compromising their visual quality. The service also has a function to test already uploaded images’ possible compression savings. Personally I find it especially useful in decreasing the size of larger images used as website backgrounds.
Try it out: Yahoo! Smush.it™.
